ABOUT

Zoltan Horcsok is Canadian musician, audio engineer and producer whose work weaves the proverbial fine line between the blues, rock, country, and folk. A former investment banker, he spent one of his lifetimes on the Bay Street hamster wheel, then decided to spend the others doing stuff he’d much rather do. Originally trained in classical guitar (Ted Lebar, Royal Conservatory of Music), he played it out with the Guitar Society of Toronto, Lebar Guitar Ensemble,  and a variety of Ontario-based blues and rock bands, then “traded” his musical passion in for a successful 25-year gig in finance. Having “been there and done that”, and determined that conventional wisdom regarding a musical life need not apply, he “traded” back to complete the grand detour.

He honed his skills as an audio/recording engineer working alongside seasoned lead engineers at Trench Recordings. Collaborating with some amazing musicians and songwriters, he creates music that reflects the ragbag of influences and experiences that continue to shape his musical walkabout. He also performs with, records, mixes and produces some very talented local musicians at Grooveyard Soundworks (Toronto).
